Lokstack
Lokstack is a Mac app that shows every local project, port, and database on your machine in one place. It tells you why a project will not start, and it stops the servers that AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex leave running. It also gives each AI agent its own lane, with a separate branch, port, and database copy, so several agents can work at once without stepping on each other. Everyday use is free, with no time limit and no account.
Key Features
- Every Project in One List: See all your local projects, processes, ports, and versions, with the Node, PHP, database, and packages each one needs.
- Plain Reasons for Errors: For errors like EADDRINUSE, Cannot find module, or ECONNREFUSED, Lokstack names the cause and puts the fix beside it. One button frees a port that is already taken.
- Stops Leftover Servers: When an AI tool leaves a server running, Lokstack tells you which one it is and lets you stop it.
- Lanes for AI Agents: A lane is a copy of your project with its own branch, port, and database. Tear it down and the port is freed, the copy dropped, and your branch kept.
- Agents Can Ask for a Lane: Over MCP, an AI tool can create or tear down a lane itself. Nothing merges until you decide.
- Databases and Docker: See every Postgres, MySQL, and Redis on your Mac and which projects use them, with Docker containers grouped by project.
- Git and Safety Tools: View changes, branches, and history for every project at once, with a secrets guard that hides keys in .env files and restorable versions of your work.
- Private by Design: Lokstack runs only on your Mac, listens on 127.0.0.1, and has no account, analytics, or telemetry.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is Lokstack free?
Lokstack is freemium. Everyday use is free with no time limit, no account, and no card. Pro adds one-click fixes, lanes, and other power tools for $79.99 a year, with the first year at 50% off ($39.99) applied automatically at checkout. A 14-day Pro trial needs no card.
What macOS version does Lokstack need?
Lokstack needs macOS 13 Ventura or newer, on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. On Apple Silicon nothing else is needed. Intel Macs need Node.js 18 or newer.
Does Lokstack send my code or data anywhere?
No. Lokstack runs on your Mac and listens on 127.0.0.1 only. It goes online only when you search for packages, pull a Docker image, or activate a Pro key.
What are lanes?
A lane is a copy of your project with its own branch, port, and database, so Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex can work on it at the same time.
How is Lokstack different from Activity Monitor or Docker Desktop?
Activity Monitor sees processes, and Docker Desktop sees containers. Lokstack joins processes, ports, containers, .env files, and runtimes into one picture per project, and tells you why a project will not start.
What happens when the 14-day Pro trial ends?
Lokstack goes back to the free plan. Nothing is deleted, and the everyday features keep working.
How do I free disk space used by developer tools?
Lokstack focuses on running your projects, not clearing caches. For cleaning Xcode, npm, Docker, and other developer caches, try DevCleaner.
