NotchNook Pro

NotchNook Pro is the rebuilt version of NotchNook, the original notch app for Mac. It puts 37 features in the space under your camera, from music with lyrics to a file tray, a terminal, and a teleprompter. You can also follow your Claude Code and Codex sessions and approve their requests without leaving your work. It runs on Macs with or without a notch, and you can try every feature free for 48 hours with no card required. It is made by lo.cafe.

Key Features

  • Claude Code and Codex: Follow your sessions from the notch, approve commands, and answer requests as they come in.
  • Clipboard History: Search what you copied earlier and find it again fast.
  • Tray and Pocket: Keep files close, drag them into other apps, or send them with AirDrop.
  • Terminal: Open a built-in terminal right from the notch.
  • Teleprompter: Read your script on screen, and the text follows your voice as you speak.
  • Music With Lyrics: Control Spotify, Apple Music, or any app macOS shows as Now Playing, and read the lyrics.
  • Calendar, Notes, Tasks, and Timers: Keep your day in one place, arranged in workspaces you can customize.
  • Live Activities: See things like AirPods and battery status as they happen.
  • Drag-and-Drop Widgets: Rearrange widgets the way you like, and pick the Liquid Glass look or the classic black one.
  • Works Without a Notch: On screens without a notch, a small handle at the top opens the same panel, and each display gets its own.
  • 32 Languages: The app is fully translated into 32 languages.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is NotchNook Pro free?

No. NotchNook Pro is a paid app, but you can try every feature free for 48 hours with no card required. After that, you can pay $19 once for a lifetime license, or $3 a month. One license covers up to 2 of your Macs, and updates are included while your license is active.

What macOS version does NotchNook Pro need?

NotchNook Pro needs macOS 14.6 or later and a Mac with Apple silicon. Intel Macs are supported by NotchNook Classic instead.

What is the difference between Pro and Classic?

Classic is the original NotchNook, with media controls, calendar, widgets, and the file tray. Pro is a full rebuild that adds the Liquid Glass look, Claude Code and Codex control, a terminal, a teleprompter, and Live Activities. Both keep getting updates.

Does my Mac need a notch?

No. On screens without a notch, a small handle at the top opens the same panel.

Does it work with Google Calendar?

Yes, through the Calendar app on your Mac. Add your Google account there and its events show up in NotchNook.

What permissions does it ask for?

NotchNook asks only for the permissions a feature needs, such as Calendar for your events or Camera for the mirror. If you skip one, that feature stays off. Your notes, files, and camera content stay on your Mac.

Is there a free alternative?

Yes. Boring Notch is a free, open-source app that turns your notch into a music control center and file shelf. You can also look at NotchNook itself, the original version of this app.
